About Jeff Hubins

Jeff Hubins is a founding partner of Schauman & Hubins and has been representing California clients since 2002. His practice focuses primarily on employment law, where he advises both employers and employees in matters involving wrongful termination, workplace retaliation, wage and hour disputes, discrimination claims, executive compensation issues, and severance agreements.


Known for his practical approach and direct communication style, Jeff works closely with clients to understand their objectives, evaluate risk, and develop effective strategies for resolving disputes. His experience representing both employers and employees provides valuable insight into how each side approaches negotiation, litigation, and settlement.



While many matters are resolved through negotiation, Jeff has extensive litigation experience and represents clients in California state and federal courts as well as before administrative agencies, including the California Labor Commissioner, California Civil Rights Department, and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

    Jeff attended college in the Bay Area before earning his law degree in Southern California, where he served as an editor of the Whittier Law School Law Review and authored two published law review articles.


    Prior to founding Schauman & Hubins with Bill Schauman in 2005, Jeff worked for Alameda County Counsel and Operating Engineers Local Union No. 3. He has also served as a board member for the Alameda County Bar Association's Lawyer Referral Program.


    In addition to his legal practice, Jeff is a certified mediator and has served as a settlement mentor for the Superior Courts of Contra Costa and Alameda Counties.
